About the event

This 9.9-mile out-and-back trail near Greenwater , Washington. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 5 h 31 min to complete. This is a very popular area for backpacking, hiking, and running, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are June through September.

This trail follows the Wonderland Trail to Camp Summerland, a popular backcountry camping area. Stop here or continue a bit further to some gorgeous lakes. There are seasonal waterfalls and wildflowers along the trail in the early summer. We will do this as a day hike, or if you can get a permit you could spend the night at Camp Summerland for a night under the stars. This is one of Mount Rainier National Park's many backpacking routes. A wilderness permit is required for all overnight stays in the backcountry.
